Summer Serve youth volunteers from HandsOn Frederick were a wonderful asset to the Zoo this summer. This group of hardworking youth were essential in laying the groundwork for the new giraffe viewing area. This group moved rocks, pulled weeds and put in the stakes to create the temporary viewing area for Rocket, our new giraffe. Braving high temperatures, they maintained fabulous attitudes and were wonderful to work with! Thank you to our Summer Serve Youth Volunteers! You are the best.
